Volunteering with the Grant Jr. Bulldogs

The Grant Jr. Bulldogs have a Volunteer deposit program where families provide a $500.00 deposit for tackle player and $200.00 for flag player at the start of the season, post dated to December 1st, 2023.  Your check will be returned to you at the end of the season as long as all of your volunteer hours are fulfilled.  We do not want your money, we NEED YOUR HELP!

2024 Volunteer Information

Volunteer Requirements:  

  • Tackle- The volunteer requirement is 6 hours per tackle family.  Family is defined as immediate family (siblings, half siblings, etc.).  

  • Flag- The volunteer requirement is 2 hours per family.  This requirement is waived for families who have both a tackle and flag player. 

Eligible Volunteer Slots:

  • Unless noted below in the Coach Assigned Volunteer Opportunities section, all volunteer slots will be listed on the Dibs section of the GJB website.  Any other volunteer time served that is not listed on Dibs, or included in the below, requires pre-approval from the Volunteer Director. Hours served without prior approval will not be honored.  

  • Please sign in at the concession stand when you report for your slot.  This will ensure that you receive credit for your hours. Please note that children are not allowed in the concession stand.

No-Show Penalty:

  • If an assigned volunteer fails to report for their slot, without cancelling through Dibs via the GJB website at least 12 hours in advance, a one-time warning will be issued.  Should a volunteer miss a second slot, without prior cancellation, their player will be suspended from the next game.   

Extra Credit:  

  • Families will receive one raffle entry for 1 free registration, for the next season, for every 2 volunteer hours completed in addition to their base requirement (6 for tackle, 2 for flag).  The winner of the raffle will be announced at the end of season awards ceremony.  

Coach Assigned Volunteer Opportunities:

Team Parent:  

  • Team parents will receive 6 hours of volunteer credit.  This is limited to one parent per team and that person must complete the season in order to receive credit.  Should more than one parent express interest in this role, the head coach for each respective team will make the final decision.

Game Filming:  

  • In order to receive volunteer credit for game filming, you must film at least half of the season’s games.  A credit of 6 volunteer hours will be given for filming half of the games. Should one family film every game of the season, they will receive 6 hours plus 6 extra credit hours towards the volunteer raffle at the end of the season.  Game film volunteers will be coordinated by the head coach of each team.

  • These are the only two positions that will count for your volunteer hours.
