Bonnie Vonder Haar

Jr Bulldog Families,

As some of you are aware, one of our Jr Bulldog families was struck with the devastating news that their daughter and sister Bonnie Vonder Haar has Leukemia. Bonnie's brother Ben is one of our tackle football players, and her dad Dave is one of our coaches.

Bonnie is a 12 year old who loves life! She plays hockey and softball, loves to jump on the trampoline, be outdoors,  and could often be heard cheering on her brother and sister at football, basketball, baseball/softball, and hockey games.

Bonnie is staying at Lutheran General in Park Ridge while undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. Her mother, Laura, is primarily staying there with her. Dad, Dave, has been traveling back and forth to be with Hannah and Ben in addition to working.

It is at this time that we as Bonnie's community not only ask for the family to be in your thoughts and prayers, but your continued support and help with some items the family is in need of. We have set up a donation page that can be supported by going to https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/qjy3/we-love-you-bonnie    however we understand not everyone is in a position to give a monetary donation.  A Bowling benefit has also been planned for April 6th (see attached flyer).

Big Hollow is also doing a "Stay Strong #77" wristband fundraiser, for interested students who do not attend Big Hollow, please contact Lori Taylor loritaylor73@sbcglobal.net

If you are willing, gas gift cards and restaurant gift cards are greatly appreciated as the out of pocket cost of daily driving is expensive.

We are also looking for some donations to help "Stock the House" with items that will help Laura and Dave once Bonnie is home. We appreciate all the offers we have had for cooking a preparing food, however are trying to limit the exposure to outside germs that could become airborne when a meal is brought in or thawed.

Needed items include:

Paper towels
Hand Sanitizers
Lysol Wipes/Spray
Face masks/gloves
White bed sheets (size twin)
Bleach
Large sized ziplock bags (large enough for bedding)
Plastic Silverware
Disposable plates, napkins, cups
Non-perishable items for easy meals (noodles, sauces, rice)
Frozen foods (pizzas, meatballs, Italian beef, chicken, roasts, etc)

Please contact Kara Bolton if you are willing and able to help with items. There will be a system for drop off donations that Kara will share with you once contacted.  She can be reached at 847-875-8075 or kbolton20@msn.com

Thank you for your support of the family!
